Kenyon Leroy Gibb was born March 5th, 1925. At the age 18 he enlisted himself into the military. After World War II, he decided to start an ice delivery business. His ice business started melting away and he decided to venture out into the real estate and insurance business.

Ken loved everything to do with sports, especially hockey. He was very involved in the hockey community and coached for over 35 years different levels of hockey. Ken’s main concern wasn’t winning championships; it was his players. He always said success in life is what truly counts. He would never charge the players to join his team. He would get donations through different clients he had through the business. He would help players any way he could, whether it was picking them up for games and practices, or paying for equipment they could not afford. He really took an interest in helping the troubled players out, making sure they stayed out of trouble. He was coach and general manager of the Junior A Royal York Royals and Markham Waxers back in the 1970s and 1980s.

Ken Gibb coached a number of young talented hockey players – including Colin Patterson (Stanley Cup winner), Bruce Driver (Stanley Cup winner), and Adam Oates (inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, 2012).

Ken Gibb Limited has sponsored many Etobicoke sports teams. Ken always thought about giving back to the community. In 2010, Ken Gibb was inducted into the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame for all his contributions to the sports community of Etobicoke.

Ken took pride in the business he started on his own. Ken always made sure his employees and clients were well taken care of. Even after retiring, he would come into the office every day to see the loyal clients that would come in for a visit. Even though Ken Gibb is no longer with us, his values and principles of the business will live on through his family and employees of Ken Gibb Limited.
